HARMFUL EFFECTS OF SLEEPING WITH TECHNOLOGY

Today’s the world has become the world of technology.Did you know today Indias teen spends average 9 hours per day looking at the screen?

A lot of time is spent on mobile devices or lot of time on computers or television and the rest stay at home, exposure to the screen can impact on health--especially when it is to close at bedtime.

Two-thirds of India report that they have trouble sleeping and too much being on screen is cause for it.This blog shows how technology causes your health which makes you change your habits.


74% of Indians use some form of technology within an hour before going to sleep.

1.65% of adults slept with a cell phone or next to them.
2.22% fall asleep with cell phone ringers on in their bed.
3.10% wakes up few nights each week due to cell phones
4.56% text almost every night in the hour before going to bed

1.61% use computer or laptop regularly in the hour before going to bed
2.50% report of not getting good nights sleep
3.using computers late at night is associated with sleep disorders, stress, and  depression

1.84% watch tv before going to bed
2.people ages 19-29 are most likely to watch programs before going to sleep
3. Comedy, drama, news are the top programs people like to watch
4.they all reported of not getting good night sleep

Video games

VIDEO GAMES

1.19% regularly play video or games before going to bed.
2.10% people reported playing video games that contain violence, minimal blood, sexual content.
3.people ages 13-18 likely to play video or games with these elements at least a few nights a week get eliminated.

Why do gadgets keep you awake:-

1.Suppress melatonin

Blue light emits from screen inhibits the production of melatonin, the hormone which controls circadian rhythm.

2.Keep brain active

Technology keeps your mind engaged and tricks your brain into thinking which makes you awake

3.Interrupt sleep

texts, emails and calls wake you up and disrupt the quality of your sleep


These are the ways through which technology harm us in sleep .try to avoid bright light and electronics before bed.Stick to a regular sleeping schedule and keep technology away before going to bed
