What Is Marketing?
The management process through which the goods and services are taken from the concept to the customer. It consists of four elements coordinates called 4P marketing:
(1) Identification, selection, and development of a product,
(2) Determining its price,
(3) selection of distribution channel to reach customer's place location, and
(4) the development and implementation of a promotional strategy.
Product orientation
A firm employing a product orientation is mainly concerned with the quality of its own product. A firm would also assume that as long as its product was of a high standard, people would buy and consume the product.
Sales orientation
A firm using a sales orientation focuses on a particular product on its selling and promotion. Consequently, this entails simply selling an already existing product and using promotion techniques to attain the highest sales possible.
Marketing orientation
The marketing orientation is perhaps used in contemporary marketing as the most common orientation. It involves a firm essentially basing its marketing plans around the marketing concept, and thus supplying products to suit new consumer tastes.The marketing orientation often has three prime facts, which are:
- Customer orientation
- Organizational orientation
- Mutually beneficial exchange
Marketing environment
The term "marketing environment" deals with all factors (whether internal, external, direct or indirect) that affect the firm's marketing decision/planning. The marketing environment of a firm consists of three main areas, which are:
Macro-environment, on which a firm maintains little control.
Microenvironment, on which a firm holds more amount (though not necessarily total) control.
Marketing research has spread in many phases
- Define the problem.
- Develop a research plan.
- Collect data.
- Explain the data in the information.
- Broadcast the information as a report formally.
